Or which of them thinks about the good of Afghanistan?
Author: Razmanda, analyst, especially for Sangar
In the evolution of world order, Afghanistan has not been light or heavy on the scales of power games. Its only role has been in defeating or creating a bond among the great powers. In general, the so-called east and West refers to the division of political and cultural thinking in which geographical boundaries are not very desirable. That is, no geographical element can indicate the validity of the term "East or West". This is the only cultural homogeneity that makes the East or separates the West from it.
East has been the usual term used against the Asian powers. Although today's Russia is located in the middle belt of East and West, or rather, Europe and Asia, and is considered part of both, culturally, the Orthodox religion and its constant confrontation with Western liberal thought, the center of Eastern power and the center of gravity. It is considered the east pole. Therefore, today's China is more of a culturally conservative China than a part of the political culture of the West that tries to assimilate other geographies.
Today, Afghanistan has the experience of playing with East and West and has always been a suitable field under the shadow of geopolitical games between East and West. Because the cheap and free fuel, which shows the main cause of convulsions and instability in this country, originates from the support of the West in the East or the East against the West. Based on this, if we have an unbiased assessment based on historical facts and the results of the policies of the Eastern and Western powers, we must look at the main and essential points of the East-West bipolarity, which is more of a cultural division and both are in constant tension, we must count the advantages and thinking of both poles.
Although the word East and West is a product of the Cold War thinking, and while the world was divided into two opposite poles of thought that were in an ideological conflict, it became popular. But overall, the world is still in the group of this thinking. Right now, when the international system is experiencing a period of transition towards post-polarity, the invisible two poles of East and West are in the main circle of competition for this transformation. But it would be good to list a series of intellectual commonalities, advantages and contradictions of these poles in the field of Afghanistan, the source of which is the current development and it strongly affects the past, present and future of Afghanistan. So these differences are as follows:
- In the eyes of the East, stability and security have always been important and its precedence over other cases is clearly evident. This same governmental authoritarianism, which is common in the East Pole, is a good proof of this claim. While the West, for economic benefit, has put intelligence games on the agenda based on the destabilizing and confusing doctrine of security. This work has been considered in Western doctrine, by means of political and security agendas, in the rule of competition between East and West on the part of Westerners;
- The East has always fought against religious and ideological extremism and has been on the opposite side of it. With the exception of cases such as China's interaction with the Taliban and Iran's understanding with religious extremist groups that are fighting for Iran's strategic depth in the Middle East, the efforts of the Easterners have always been to establish contact with national, ideological left and moderate currents which show the obvious difference between western and eastern thinking. While the West has always benefited from religious extremism in order to achieve its strategic goals;
- The view of the East has always been on the nationalist nature and liberating currents that emerged from the political crises in its geography. While the West has benefited from this tactic for its political agendas. For example, the war in Afghanistan, which was initially called the war of liberation, is mainly considered to achieve the strategic goals of the West;
- The East has always been interested in the economic development of its nearby geography with governmental authoritarianism, social economy. The former Soviet Union, and today's China are good examples of this claim. While the West has been the killer of poor and poor people by imposing the murderous theories of Western neoliberalism;
- In the eyes of the Easterners, security was considered first and then economic development. While the westerners use every security tactic to de-security for their economic benefits. The opium war in China, the strengthening of terrorist groups that are the main founders of drug trafficking in Asia, arms traffickers have all served Western interests, are good examples in this field. While the East's confrontational view with these elements, this kind of income from the mafia of drugs, weapons and people shows an attempt by the West to de-security the East;
- The East today is not trying to impose a certain political model of regimes and political systems on the eastern peripheral societies, but its main effort is to provide security, regionalism seeking economic benefits for the entire region, creating a belt to deal with threats that It can endanger the vital interests of the entire region. While the West, under the shadow of the doctrine of the New World Order, the Great Middle East Plan, the imposition of American and liberal values, meaningless concepts such as human rights, which itself is the main violator of it, is always struggling to impose these thoughts;
- Since every security interaction in Afghanistan has affected the situation of the whole region and this is shown by the past experience, it is due to the efforts of the East in the direction of regional security to find a way out of the problem of insecurity. While for the West, security and insecurity in Afghanistan is of secondary value and in many cases an insecure Afghanistan is considered a great achievement for the West;
- The East always thinks about the security protection belt around the Asian countries, because it knows that the lack of such a belt is actually a guarantee for the whole region from the evil of the West's anti-security agendas. While the West's effort is to break this belt, as a result of which the security of the entire Eastern region will be jeopardized and the security interests of the West will be secured;
- The West always views Afghanistan and its surrounding countries with contempt and contempt. While the East considers Afghanistan and its surrounding countries as part of the vital geographical area of the political and strategic culture ruling the region and does not see any difference between Afghanistan and its other surrounding countries.
Conclusion:
- The difference between East and West is determined by the historical course. Just as the past historical experiences have formed huge differences in the way the people of the East view the West, in the same way, the future path of the Eastern countries will be determined under the shadow of these historical experiences;
- Afghanistan in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries has had several experiences of the military, security, economic and political presence of the East and the West. These experiences show which presence has worked for the great economic and security interests of Afghanistan? While most of the people have looked at the destructive aspect of this presence, the achievements of political systems supported by the East in Afghanistan have had good results that cannot be denied.
- The West will never be able to pay for our security, economic, security and political guarantees from miles away. This will rule out the possibility of achieving Western strategic goals in Afghanistan in the future. While the East always sees the development of Afghanistan in the direction of its great economic interests and puts security first;
- Our view should be more on the potential in the region (east). The trans-region only de-security in times of crisis, which is not in our interest at all. Only the regional (eastern) power can be taken into account in order to provide security, economic prosperity and liberation of Afghanistan;
- Our culture is not much different from the East. While we have deep cultural conflicts with the West, which excludes the possibility of any strategic compromise with it. The difference in cultures is so important and effective that it can be considered as a major obstacle to this understanding between the West and the East.
