The US and the Taliban have agreed on the formation of an interim government of Afghanistan and the structure of the future governance of the country.

MOSCOW, April 15 – Andrey Serenko. Our sources in Turkey sent us a message about this today.

According to the information received, “the structure of the future government of Afghanistan will be almost identical to the structure of the government of Iran.”

It is assumed that “Afghanistan will be governed and headed by its Islamic Emirate (administration/office of the emir), whose headquarters are located in the city of Kandahar.”

“The emir, at his own discretion, appoints the head of government in Kabul, who will assume control of affairs in the country,” the sources report.

The ministers of the cabinet in Kabul will be appointed either by the head of government or by the Kandahar administration of the emirate. The selection and appointment of provincial governors is the responsibility of the head of government, the message says.

The role of the parliament will be performed by the National Council (NC), to which direct popular elections will be held, but the list of candidates who will compete in these elections to the NC will be preliminarily formed and agreed upon with the Emir's office and a special council under it. The Emir will approve it before the election procedure is launched.

According to our correspondents, according to the agreements reached, "women will not be present in the highest echelons of the government, but a limited number of them will work in the National Council - after their qualifications are confirmed by the Emirate's office." Labor restrictions for women and regulations regarding their education will be established by separate regulations on behalf of the Emir.

All laws and agreements of the republican period concerning the national and international level will be canceled and revised. The armed forces and security agencies (the Interior Ministry, intelligence, and security services) will be under the direct command of the emir and the leadership/administration of the Islamic Emirate, with the Minister of Defense playing a coordinating role.

The Afghan media will be controlled by a special Islamic Council, chaired by the emir.

The budget and expenses of the interim government of Afghanistan, salaries and funding for equipping the army, police, and national security forces, as well as costs for elections to the National Council, “are provided and financed by the United States of America.”

Sources report that the interim government will initially be headed by former President Hamid Karzai, who will lead it from Kabul for two years. During this time, Karzai will ensure the development of a new constitution for Afghanistan, an election law, and “other laws following Islamic Sharia and with their mandatory approval by the emir.”

"Hamid Karzai, Hanif Atmar, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, and Maulavi Sher Mohammad Stanikzai have been named among the figures who will be part of the interim government of Afghanistan," the sources said.

P.S. Our other sources reported that in addition to Hamid Karzai, American, and Taliban representatives are considering Hekmat Karzai as a possible future head of the interim government of Afghanistan. As the old Jewish joke goes: so that money does not leave the family...
