MOSCOW, Andrey Serenko — Andrey Serenko’s Telegram Channel. On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, fighters of the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) carried out a series of coordinated operations against Taliban militants in several provinces of the country, inflicting significant losses on the enemy in both personnel and infrastructure.

The attacks took place in the provinces of Badakhshan, Kapisa, and Nuristan.

Badakhshan Province: Taliban Commander Killed in Faizabad

At approximately 8:30 a.m., fighters of the Afghanistan Freedom Front conducted a targeted operation against a Toyota Hilux vehicle carrying armed Taliban members in Faizabad, the administrative capital of Badakhshan Province. The incident occurred in the Shahr-e-Naw area.

Four Taliban militants were killed in the precision attack. Among those killed was a commander of the group who had long been sought by Afghanistan Freedom Front fighters. The AFF suffered no casualties during the operation.

Following the attack, Taliban militants, reportedly gripped by panic and fear, began detaining civilians and subjecting them to harassment, mistreatment, and abuse. The Taliban also intensified the atmosphere of fear and terror by using violence against ordinary citizens.

Kapisa Province: Rocket Attack on Taliban Checkpoints in Kohistan

At approximately 2:00 a.m., Afghanistan Freedom Front fighters launched a rocket and machine-gun attack on Taliban checkpoints in the Poza-e Kham-Zargar area of Hesa-e Awal-e Kohistan District, Kapisa Province.

The pre-planned attack lasted approximately 20 minutes. According to preliminary reports, at least three Taliban militants were killed and two others were wounded.

Local militias affiliated with the Taliban have reportedly intensified their pressure and harassment of residents in the Kham-Zargar area in recent weeks. They have also allegedly engaged in theft and the looting of civilian property. These activities were cited as the reason for targeting them in the operation.

Nuristan Province: Taliban Attacks Repelled in Kamdesh

Clashes erupted between commandos of the Afghanistan Freedom Front and Taliban forces in Kamdesh District, Nuristan Province, on the morning of Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Following defeats and heavy losses suffered in previous days, Taliban forces launched attacks from several directions against the positions and defensive fortifications of AFF commandos.

The attacks met fierce resistance from Freedom Front fighters. AFF forces subsequently launched a large-scale, coordinated counterattack that, according to the Front's statement, inflicted significant casualties on the enemy and forced Taliban fighters to retreat.

The clashes lasted approximately six hours. According to a statement issued by the Afghanistan Freedom Front, 11 Taliban militants were killed and at least eight others were wounded.

The wounded were reportedly transported to medical facilities and treatment centers in the administrative center of Kamdesh District and in Parun, the capital of Nuristan Province.

Afghanistan Freedom Front commandos continue to actively and systematically maintain their positions in areas under their control in Kamdesh District, Nuristan Province. According to the Front's statement, they retain control of the situation in local settlements and surrounding areas.
