In recent days, there has been a wide wave of criticism and backlash against the leadership of the Resistance Front and Mr. Ahmad Massoud. Here and there his friends and political rivals sting him and write prescriptions and offer a variety of plans from all over the world. Undoubtedly, some of these criticisms are definitely fair and deserve attention, and the leader of the Front should take measures for organizational and structural reform and take a position on these issues.
But we should not forget that Ahmad Massoud has characteristics and qualities that make him a cut above and more visible than other elders, leaders, and contenders for leadership in the geography of resistance. They are:
1 - He is healthy and free from all corruption. Not involved in financial and moral corruption. He has clean hands, a clean soul, and behind him is cleanliness in moral and financial blunders in a society where none of his political leaders are immune from these plagues. The latter had/have dirty hands and selfishness as much as we can imagine. And his eloquent and fearless voice in politics comes precisely because of this quality.
2 - He has a high social, political, and moral prestige and authority compared to other contenders for power and leadership in the geography of resistance. An advantage that others lack and squander over the last twenty years.
3 - He has his own position. He does not speak indistinctly or vaguely. He is free from all political and social contagions and he is not a coward, like other decorative and false leaders who spread vague and mute words. He does not beg for politics and does not use flattering expressions, but he has a clear position and opinion, a clear audience, and a known enemy. Saying everything but not saying anything is not his style. He openly and clearly states the issue in front of everyone and boldly expresses his views on behalf of his nation and people.
4 - He is independent. He is the son of that father who died for the independence and freedom of his people and left a school of independence and freethinking as a legacy. He is the heir of this school and this way of thinking. He always repeatedly mentioned this in his conversations and speeches, and stated and emphasized the reason for today's resistance as a continuation of the path of struggle for the independence and freedom of his righteous predecessor.
5 - He can analyze. Even though he is young, he is solid and smart in analyzing the situation. He has a precise political analysis and clearly sees the present and future of the country. He does not engage in conspiracy theories and is not bound by civil wars, but seeks to solve the problems of the country and its people with the right analysis.
6 - He is a man of dialogue and believes in dialogue. He does not have a tactical view of dialogue, but has always considered dialogue as a strategy and solution to the country's problems and emphasized this. His arguments are convincing, and his position is clear and forward-looking. Therefore, he is not afraid to speak, and when meeting with those who even thirst for his blood, he acts with courage and courtesy and is always in favor of talking and sitting at the table in order to establish peace in his homeland.
7 - He is a supporter of unity and sympathy among the leaders of the resistance geography. When all the elders attacked each other like demons to achieve their political, economic, and group interests, and they broke the strong bonds of unity of the people with the sword of discord, he called everyone to unity. He sincerely calls for empathy and unity.
8 - He has enough courage to serve his country. When everyone fled, he, in spite of domestic, regional, and international despair and empty-handed, called to rise. If he hadn't had the courage, he might have run away like dozens of other leaders and fulfilled his mission by writing a statement. But he plucked up courage and, realizing all the consequences, stood alone against all internal and external conspiracies and laid the foundation for a historic and decisive struggle, and sowed the seeds of hope in the hearts of the despairing.
