Why did Malik become a Talib, then join the resistance?

This man whose shoulder is being held by Ahmad Shah Massoud is Commander Malik.
Commander Malik was until recently the intelligence chief of the Taliban Security Directorate in Panjshir. He is the nephew of Mirza Mohammad, one of the senior commanders of Jihad time (1979-1989). During the First Resistance (1996-2001), Malik led a strike force founded and trained by the great Ahmad Shah Massoud.
When the Taliban* was defeated in 2001, many of his comrades-in-arms achieved high positions and wealth. Commander Malik rendered great merit in the fight against the Taliban, but his weapons were taken away under the DDR program (Disarming, Demobilizing, and Reintegrating - Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration), and he himself was left leave to chance.
He opposed the local authorities of Panjshir, but his most basic demand was respect for his rights and the rights of his people. “I know hundreds of parasites who were appointed to positions because of their family background, but I fought side by side with everyone, why should I be ignored,” he said.
Several times I (Najib Barwar) tried to solve his problem with the local authorities. Once I reported this to the son of Marshal Fahim, who was the vice-chairman of the National Security Administration, but no one paid any attention to it. The National Security Administration has always accused him of getting money from foreign intelligence agencies.
Commander Malik became a Talib on purpose because of the actions of the Panjshir politicians. One of the reasons for the defeat of Panjshir was the non-participation of the inhabitants of the Dara region (which is under the influence of Malik) in the resistance. The Taliban, with the help of Commander Malik, the Taliban of the Pariyan region, and some traitors sitting in Kabul, were able to easily conquer Panjshir. But Commander Malik told the Taliban, "No one here is against you, so don't enter Dara."
The Taliban carried out all their activities in Dara under the command of Commander Malik and in direct consultation with him. It was he who informed the resistance forces of several ambushes. Amrullah Saleh was rescued from the territories of his rule, and in his district, contrary to the order of the Taliban, festive prayers were performed (despite the fact that the Taliban ordered to celebrate Eid al-Fitr on May 1, it was celebrated on May 2 in Dara). The imams of mosques in the territory of his rule protected the resistance, so the Taliban were forced to go against him.
Commander Malik has been fighting the Taliban in Abdullakhel for several days. Some preach that "some friends who were deceived by the Taliban have returned". As a fellow villager of Malik, I wanted to share with you these facts about an illiterate person who cannot defend himself against such accusations.
Today, the hidden sides of the defeat of our people in the war against the Taliban are clearly manifesting. We won't let anyone smear them with mud again. Especially in the case of the inhabitants of Dara (Obshore, Abdullahel, Kiraman, Malima, etc.), who showed courage in all the battles of the Panjshir people, and it is from here that most of the cultural honors of the valley originate. From now on, we will not be silent, and we will give a kick to the one who reproaches us!
