This is a response to those who do not recognize Ahmad Massoud as a leader and the National Resistance Front as a front.
Author: Ahmad Saidi, Afghanistan and regional analyst (Switzerland), especially for "Sangar"
Yesterday I had a post like this: "Mr. Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front, invited to the United States". After publishing this article, I received a variety of comments, both positive and negative. But my dear friend Sayed Zakirullah Sadat was very offended by the title of "National Resistance Front" led by Ahmad Massoud and wrote to me why I call Ahmad Massoud the leader of the National Resistance Front. According to him, there is no national resistance and no one is a nationalist and a leader of the national resistance.
Mr. Sadat, not only I but also all national and international media, including Britain, of which you are a citizen, have repeatedly presented Ahmad Massoud as the leader of the National Resistance Front. On the other hand, the fact that the chairman of the US Senate Committee Michael McCaul invited Ahmad Massoud as the leader of the National Resistance Front, and not under another designation, is not my fault. It is simply the obvious truth.
Do you criticize countries and media outlets that repeatedly call Ahmad Massoud the leader of the National Resistance Front?
I suggest you first have a claim against the UK, of which you are a citizen, why they attribute this title to Mr. Ahmad Massoud. Why do you blame only Ahmad Saidi for writing the word "national resistance"?
I agree with the word "national resistance" and consider the national resistance to the Taliban a source of pride and honor.
In any case, what you believe in or whether the word "national resistance" hurts your feelings is your problem. I respect your opinion.
Even if you want to call the Taliban the saviors and heroes of Afghanistan, I have no problem, this is your opinion. And if you do not think so, again, I don't care. But I reserve the right to introduce anyone by any name and title I want. And I do not ask anyone, including you, for permission to do so.
Below, I intend to define and describe a national personality and a nationalist from the point of view of scientific logic, as you objected.
Mr. Sadat, national and nationalist personalities are people who are devoted to their country, culture, and national interests and try to help improve the situation of their society and country. Some of the most notable characteristics of these personalities are:
1 - Love of Country: These people love and respect their country and culture.
2 - Honesty: Nationalist personalities are usually honest and truthful and adhere to ethical principles.
3 - Self-Sacrifice: These people are willing to sacrifice their personal interests for the sake of public and national interests.
4 - Commitment to Social Justice: They believe in justice and equality in society and strive to eliminate discrimination and inequality.
5 - Awareness of History and Culture: These people are well aware of their history, culture, and national heritage and try to preserve and promote it.
6 - Leadership and Inspiration: These people are often able to guide and encourage others to achieve national and social goals.
7 - Striving for Independence and Self-Sufficiency: They care about the independence of their country and try to make the country self-sufficient in various fields, including economic and political.
8 - National Solidarity and Unity: These individuals care about creating unity and solidarity among the people and various social and ethnic groups of their country.
Mr. Sadat, do you and I have these qualities? Do we have an understanding of such concepts? If we do, that's okay, and if not, let's give the right to choose to others.
It is better to look to the future. If we cling to the past, we will miss the future. It is better to move towards unity, solidarity, and coherence. The past of most of us is not so clear and transparent that if we look at it, we will lose the future.
Sincerely yours
Ahmad Saidi
