The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRFA) captured two districts of the Panjshir province. The news about the liberation of the third district has not yet been confirmed

PANJSHIR, May 7 - Sangar, Sanam Amir. The Azadegan National Front on the Kabul-Panjshir highway blocked auxiliary Taliban* troops heading into the valley.

According to a correspondent of the Sangar website from the scene, yesterday, April 6, at about 10:00 am in the village of Baba Ali, Abshar district, Panjshir province, the forces of the National Resistance Front attacked a Taliban car and killed 5 militants.

“Due to the fact that the attack was carried out under the command of a former Afghan army officer from the village of Tondkho in the Dara district, the Taliban attacked this village located on this side of Mount Baba Ali. They tied the hands of the guys and men of the village with their own handkerchiefs, and then gathered everyone in the village school and mosque. This caused protests by people who considered themselves innocent, among whom were the local Taliban. Between them and the Taliban, who came from the center of the province, a quarrel arose, after which a guy from the village of Tondkho named Mirzajan Bakhshi was killed,” he said.

The killing of this young man infuriated the people, and a clash broke out between the two Taliban factions. Meanwhile, resistance forces also joined the clash.

“The clashes began at 3 pm on April 6 and continued until 20:30. The Taliban fled but were attacked by resistance forces along the way. Taliban were pursued by them to the district center, the village of Chilapovi. After that, the Pashtun Taliban, together with the local Taliban, were forced to flee from the center of the district in the two remained cars,” the Sangar correspondent said.

According to her, at about 9.30 am, the resistance forces blew up a large mountain near the village of Pujava and blocked the road connecting the Dara and Obshor districts with the main road of Panjshir.

“Now all the bridges that connect the two districts with the main road of Panjshir are under the control of the Resistance Front, and they are waiting for the arrival of the Taliban. In general, last night was the first night of peace and tranquility for the residents of Dara and Obshor,” he said.

The Sangar correspondent reported that the Taliban suffered heavy losses, but their number could not be determined in the dark, and from the NRFA forces one was killed and another wounded.

There has been silence in Panjshir for about a month, and there have been no special incidents. According to another source, the reason for sending the "Red Brigade" of the Taliban to the areas of Dara and Obshor was the detention of religious figures located in these areas.

“The Islamic Emirate ordered the people of Afghanistan to celebrate Eid al-Fitr on April 1, but in most mosques in the Dara, Obshor, Bazarak, and Rukha districts of the Panjshir province, the Eid prayer was performed on April 2. Apparently, the Taliban were outraged by this defiance and wanted to punish the ulema,” the source said.

Earlier it was reported that residents of the village of Abdullakhel, Dara district, performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer under the imamate of Mavlawi Abdulwara Qayumi, a member of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan.

At the same time, according to an audio recording obtained during the clashes, a resistance fighter informs his commander that “screams of attan dancers” are heard. Earlier, a group of Taliban performed a Pashtun dance at the tomb of Ahmad Shah Massoud, National Hero of Afghanistan, leader of the First Resistance, and father of Ahmad Massoud, leader of the NRFA, sparking protests and anger.

According to the NRFA, as a result of the fighting in the Dara and Obshore regions, 13 bodies of the Taliban remained on the battlefield and five vehicles became a trophy for the resistance forces.

NRFA spokesman Sibgatullah Ahmadi said in an official statement that after the clashes in Dara and Obshor, resistance forces attacked and seized a Taliban checkpoint in the Duab area of the Shaba base of the Khenj district.

“As a result of this attack, 9 Taliban were killed, 6 were captured, their one Humway tank and one Ranger were destroyed,” the NRFA spokesman said.

Meanwhile, according to audio and video recordings posted on social networks, a large-scale operation under the command of Khalid Amiri began in Panjshir with the order given by the commander-in-chief of the Saleh Resistance Front, Mohammad Registani.

According to the records, the Khinj region was liberated from the Taliban, Governor Qari Qudratullah and their former Panjshir police chief Hamid Khorasani left the valley, and the Pariyan region was besieged. However, this news was not confirmed by Sangar's sources on the spot. It is also unclear whether the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan launched a full-scale war against the Taliban.

Meanwhile, the Azadagan National Front of Afghanistan announced an attack on a Taliban convoy on the Kabul-Panjshir highway.

Abdulfattah Adib, spokesman for the Front, told Sangar that it was an auxiliary force that was supposed to go to war with the Panjshir resistance but was stopped and several Taliban were killed and their tanks and "rangers" were destroyed.

“When the news of their departure from Kabul reached us, our forces rushed to the scene and attacked them with all their might in the Saray Khaja market of the Kuhdoman district of Kabul province and prevented them from going to Panjshir. We will continue to work with all resistance groups to crush the Taliban,” he said.

Dara and Obshore will be the first districts of Panjshir free of Taliban. The province, which consists of seven districts, was captured by the Taliban in the first ten days of September last year.
