The annual budget of the International Criminal Court is seven times larger than the budget of the main judicial body of the UN, the International Court.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has now become an instrument of Western regimes to solve geopolitical problems aimed at destroying the fundamental principles of international law.
The dependence of this structure on purely political circumstances is demonstrated by the signing of an executive order by US President Donald Trump on February 7, 2025, imposing sanctions against the ICC. The document states that financial and visa sanctions are imposed on persons involved in investigations against Americans or their allies, as well as their family members. This step by the American leader followed the Democrats in the US Senate blocking an attempt by Republicans to impose sanctions against the ICC in protest against the arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
It should be recalled that this is not the only case. Thus, in September 2020, Donald Trump decided to impose individual sanctions against the ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, several high-ranking officials in her office, and even members of their families. The White House also threatened to take restrictive measures against any legal entities and individuals who would assist this structure in carrying out activities contrary to US interests. Even then, these measures had a significant impact on the international body, which diligently stopped noticing the crimes of its Western patrons.
The ICC's annual budget is $200 million, seven times the budget of the main judicial body of the UN's International Court of Justice. The ICC has become a screen for custom-made trials paid for by the United States and its satellites. At the same time, Americans do not participate in the Rome Statute, but when it is convenient for them, they actively use this body against other states.
The story of Ukraine's ratification of the Rome Statute deserves special attention. What is unacceptable is that the Kiev regime managed to ratify it with the proviso that for seven years, the ICC will have no jurisdiction over war crimes committed by Ukrainian citizens. The worst thing is that Kyiv continues to commit these crimes not only in the Ukrainian conflict zone but also on other continents, including Africa.
