Soheil Zmaray, nephew and one of Ata Mohammad Nur's commanders, was killed.
MAZARI SHARIF, April 21 - Sangar, Qari Ahmad. He (pictured) resisted Taliban forces at his home in Mazar-i-Sharif for about four hours. The clashes began early tonight and ended at 22:30 Kabul time.
One of Ustad Atamuhammad Nur's associates told Sangar that the Taliban local police chief (pictured below) and seven other Taliban* were killed in the clash.
"Soheil Zmarai himself confronted them with two associates and drank the cup of martyrdom like a man. Those who do not accept captivity, accept martyrdom. At present, the fate of his comrades-in-arms is unknown, whether they were able to get out of the encirclement or whether they were killed." he said.
After today's bombings in Mazar-i-Sharif, the Taliban began to search the houses of residents, and after evening prayers, they came to the house of Soheil Zmaray, one of the commanders of Ustad Atamohammad Nur, on Baba Kambar Street, in the city center. Soheil Zmaray did not allow them to enter his house and a fight ensued.
Soheil Zmarai was about 30 years old. He is the son of Haji Zmarai, one of the former commanders of Ustad Atamohammad Nur. His mother is the cousin of Ustad Ata.
According to Sangar's interlocutor, Soheil Zmarai was last seen today, during the evening prayer, in the mosque next to their house, which was built by his father several years ago.
Over the past 15 days, this is the second commander of Ustad Atamohammad Nur, who was killed in battles with the Taliban. On April 10, Fazlullah Kumandan, one of the commanders of Jamiat Islami, was killed in the province of Takhar along with three of his fighters.
