From the beginning of the fall of Panjshir in September 2021 until May 2022, Dara was the safest and Taliban-free area of Panjshir, as it was ruled by local commander Haji Malikkhan, but in May 2022 a conflict arose between him and the Taliban. Currently, according to available statistics, the Taliban committed most of their crimes against humanity in Dara.
