Anti-Taliban resistance leaders from across Afghanistan are gathering in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
MASHHAD, April 14 - Sangar, Zahir Faqir. According to preliminary data, the leaders of the anti-Taliban militant parties, organizations, and fronts should determine a new and unified structure for the future national resistance to the Taliban*.
A source familiar with the situation told Sangar that in the coming days, all the leaders of the anti-Taliban resistance in Afghanistan are gathering in Mashhad or Tehran of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to create a unified structure of resistance to the Taliban, which includes all political, military and ethnic groups and intellectual forces.
“The first suggestion is for the decisions to be made at the head of two councils or a double layer council. One of them will be the Grand Council, which brings together about 100 people, including political and military figures. The other is the Small Council, which consists of less than 15 members, is constantly active, and deals more with issues. At the same time, both provinces and fronts will participate in this council both in-person and online. All these efforts are aimed at spreading the war against the Taliban throughout Afghanistan and restoring the people's right to self-determination,” the source said.
According to initial reports, this large meeting of leaders of all political and military parties and organizations will be attended in person or through their proxies by leaders such as Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front, Ustad Atamuhammad Nur, Salahuddin Rabbani, and Amir Ismail Khan, leaders of Damiati Islami, Aburab Rasul Sayyaf, leader of the Islamic Union, Marshal Abdurashid Dostum, leader of the National Islamic Movement, Abdulkarim Khalili and Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq, leaders of the Islamic Unity Party, Tadin Khan, leader of the Kandahar Resistance, Mohammad Yassin Zia, leader of the Afghan Freedom Front and others.
More information about this meeting is not yet available. The exact date of the meeting is not yet known.
This will be the first major meeting of anti-Taliban forces since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August last year. During this time, several fronts were formed in the country to fight the Taliban, the first of which was the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, led by Ahmad Masood, the son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the leader of the First Resistance (1996-2001).
In recent months, the Azadagan Front (leader Dr. Suleiman), Islamic National Liberation Movement of Afghanistan (Abdulmatin Suleimankhel), Afghanistan Freedom Front (Mohammad Yasin Zia), Nur Front or Islamic Jamiat Forces (Ustad Atamohammad Nur), Freedom Movement Front and Democracy "Khazaristan" (leader unknown) and the Freedom Corps (according to unofficial sources, Masoud Andarabi) have also been joined the anti-Taliban struggle.
The Iranian meeting is designed to unite the disparate anti-Taliban fronts, turn them into a single force, and spread the war throughout Afghanistan. At the moment, only two regions - Panjshir and Andarab bear the brunt of the war.
Badakhshan, which was supposed to be the third strong front, has been badly damaged over the past week and has been partly dispersed by the Taliban. These days, the Taliban began to suppress the anti-Taliban forces in the province of Takhar.
