The commander killed in clashes with the Taliban* on Sunday was one of the commanders of the Jamiat Islami (Islamic Society) groups led by Ustad Atamuhammad Nur.
KUNDUZ, April 13 - Sangar, Jamshid Badakhshi. It was previously reported in the media and social media that the commander belonged to the Taliban and died due to an internal dispute with another Taliban commander.
A source in the Takhar provincial administration told the Sangar website that the media made a mistake in calling him Faizullah and "Mawlawi" and also a Taliban commander.
“The man's name is Fazlullah, one of the group commanders of Faizullah Chahabi, a commander of Jamiat Islami in Takhar. The intelligence of the Islamic Emirate became aware of the mission of Fazlullah, which was to identify persons, targets, and information for guerrilla attacks, etc., and issued an order for his arrest and assassination,” he said.
One of Fazlullah's relatives told the Sangar website that the Taliban sent a commander named Shahidullah to arrest him when Fazlullah was in Gozari Gardangi, Chahab district of Takhar province.
“Fazlullah called one of his relatives before death and told him that his mission was exposed and the Emirate had pronounced his death sentence. On Sunday, when the Taliban came to detain him, he knew what was happening, so he did not give up and resisted. He was martyred after a three-hour clash with three of his fighters - Hasibullah, Khoshhal, and Muhammad Azam, ” the source said.
This source also gave the reason why he did not escape. According to him, Fazlulloh prepared the ground and bought time so that his fighters, including his father and brother, could escape. Now the members of Fazlullah's group, led by his father and brother, are under the command of Faizullah Chahabi.
Meanwhile, informed sources report the presence and activities of several commanders of Jamiat Islami Ata Mohammad Nur in the ranks of the Taliban. Their names are not named for obvious reasons.
Fayzullah Chahabi is one of the senior commanders of the Jamiat Islami, which operates in the areas of the Kokcha River's banks - Dashti Qala, Khaja Bahauddin, Rustaq, Darqad, Yangi Qala, and Chahab in the province of Takhar. Several attacks on the Taliban in recent months have been his group's work. In one of these attacks, Fayzullah Chakhabi himself was wounded.
According to information provided to Sangar by the political office of Ustad Atamohammad Nur, known as Ustad Ata, Jamiat Islami now has military groups in several provinces of Afghanistan, including Faryab, Kunduz, Sari Pul, Samangan, Parwan, Kabul, Baghlan, Juzjan, Balkh, Bamiyan, Ghor, Badghis, Nuristan and even Panjshir, the birthplace of the Second Resistance, led by Ahmad Masud, the son of Ahmadshah Masud, one of whose commanders was Ustad Ata.
