The future of Afghanistan cannot be determined by those who have monopolized politics for the past 45 years!
Author: Malik Sitez, International Relations Researcher and University Professor.
Governments in exile are formed under special political conditions. When the parent or original state is illegally confiscated by political groups, other political groups, social activists, and specialized and worthy individuals organize a government in exile. A government in exile should have fifteen basic functions:
1 - Ensuring communication within the country through active and constructive dialogue and creating an atmosphere of mutual trust.
2—Create an active political group consisting of worthy and reliable individuals and identify attractive and pragmatic leadership with high potential in coordination, management, and leadership from among them.
3 - Gaining trust among the people to achieve national legitimacy.
4 - Gaining international trust to gain global legitimacy.
5 - Develop a national strategy to save the country in cooperation with national and international experts based on historical lessons at the national and world levels.
6—Create a specialized political cabinet that can identify society's realities and turn the ways out of the crisis into a political program.
7 - Develop a constructive action plan in coordination with national and international actors and create opportunities for citizens, especially young people, to participate in its implementation.
8 - Provide financial and specialized resources for internal and external expenditures based on the principle of transparency.
9 - Create an accessible and simple mechanism for assessing, and reporting on activities to the public based on the principle of the rule of law and accountability.
10 - Interact and create conditions for active and constructive participation with citizens living abroad.
11 - Specialized lobbying and propaganda of the values of national ideals matured in the political strategy.
12 - Mobilize opposition forces from a political, military, and economic point of view to support the people and create a popular consensus.
13 - Rapprochement with civil society organizations and the media to exchange social and value efforts.
14 - Creation of an active and dynamic institution for the propaganda of the implementation of political programs.
15 - Creation of a political think tank in coordination with the country's scientific, specialized, and intellectual figures.
I am in favor of the creation of a government in exile and I think it is important that these principles are respected. International experience has shown that a government in exile means an alternative political structure that must demonstrate and prove that it is more effective than the existing government.
But my questions are:
Do the same gentlemen who shout about a government in exile respect these principles? The answer is clear.
Will these gentlemen, who have monopolized politics for the past 45 years, be able to leave the government for exile and make room for a new generation? This answer is also clear.
Do these gentlemen have the people's trust in this great task of creating a government in exile? The answer is clear.
Do these gentlemen have pure experience? This issue is also clear.
The government in exile should not be subject to political abuse. I believe that it is time to create a specialized government that creates the future of Afghanistan. Of course, politicians can participate in this. But there must be politicians with fresh thoughts and experienced personalities who are useful for the future of the country. Then the people will support them.
