How big is the difference between Islam in the Arab world and Islam in Afghanistan?
By Ahmad Saeedi, Afghanistan and Regional Affairs Analyst (Switzerland), especially for Sangar
These contradictions not only bring suffering and confusion to Muslims but also show the use of Islam as a tool for political purposes and to maintain power. These contradictions in the implementation of religious laws made me write these lines with pain, sadness, and tears. I am sure that conscientious, decent people and true Muslims will read these lines carefully.
While the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan with the support of Qatar and, at the behest of Qatari emir, issued strict orders forcing women to wear the burqa, in other Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, Islam is interpreted and practiced completely differently. In particular, in the ceremony of welcoming Trump, the wife of the Emir of Qatar shakes hands with all the infidels and Muslim men and does not observe any requirements of hijab.
I found it very interesting that in Arab countries, men observe hijab, but women do not observe any form of Islamic hijab.
For example, during the visit of US President Donald Trump to Arab countries, the Emirates and Qatar held official welcoming ceremonies with the participation of women. In the Emirates, women shook their hair and participated in the traditional dance "Aleila" equally with men, and in Qatar, women without the traditional hijab, especially the wife of the Emir of Qatar, appeared next to male officials and shook hands with Trump and other foreign infidels. And this is while in Afghanistan, women are deprived of the opportunity to participate in even the most simple public events.
But in my land, my beloved Afghanistan:
Not only are women denied the right to education and work, but they are not even allowed to leave the house without a mahram. These restrictions have led to an increase in domestic violence and severe psychological pressure on women.
I do not know who really knows the true Islam, while the Arabs call themselves the leaders of the Islamic world, who is mistaken, and who is following the path of guidance and worship of God, which has occupied the minds of many Muslims. We do not know who is Muslim, who is an infidel...
When in Saudi Arabia, Jennifer Lopez's dancing and singing are considered "Islamic", and in Afghanistan, educating girls is considered "un-Islamic", we must ask ourselves: what version of Islam is this, mixed with the taste of Arabic liquor and "guarded" by the blood of the people of Afghanistan?
Women greet Donald Trump with a hair dance in a country where indigenous women can be severely punished for immorality if they try to shake their hair without their husband's permission.
Qatar, a small but powerful country, provided all kinds of entertainment, from alcoholic drinks to nightclubs, when it hosted the World Cup. But none of this was considered un-Islamic, because the guests were foreigners, and Arabs believe that God loves guests.
These same sheikhs with diamond beads have been sending the people of Afghanistan to the altar for fifty years under the pretext of defending Islam. From Pakistani religious schools to sending signed checks for millions of dollars to train fighters, this is Islam, its followers, and, of course, its "patrons".
Perhaps one day this equation will change, but for now, someone sings and someone dies. One eats bread, another eats blood, and even cries blood. One of them prays in a villa by the sea, and the other mutters his "Fatiha" under a starless sky, with a bloody body.
Conclusion
These contradictions in the interpretation and application of Islamic law show that religious rulings are, in many cases, applied selectively, for the sake of power and political interests, and not based on the Quran and Hadith. While in an Islamic country wearing hijab is not mandatory, and even dancing and warm greetings to Western leaders are common, the dancing that Donald Trump saw in the United Arab Emirates was not seen in any Western or Jewish country, but in another country called Afghanistan, the same women are forcibly held, beaten and even raped.
This dual behavior not only harms the principles of religion and Sharia but also causes mistrust and confusion among Muslims.
Those who are true Muslims will judge for themselves from this article of mine and find out who is mistaken and who is exploiting the name of Islam for political purposes and making Islam a tool in their hands.
