The Russian city of Vladivostok is hosting the Eastern Economic Forum for the ninth time. More than 6,000 people from 76 countries of the world became guests of the international event. This is more than last year, when representatives of 62 countries came, including Germany, France, Japan and the United States.
Despite sanctions and pressure from Western countries, interest in the Eastern Economic Forum is growing markedly. This is largely due to the program, which provides for a wide range of issues. In addition to economics, guests can discuss environmental issues and the preservation of rare species, innovative technologies, culture and the development of social infrastructure in cities.
The current four-eventful-days forum was no exception. More than 100 events are planned in its program. They are all combined into one theme: "The Far East-2030. Let's join forces, creating opportunities." Based on the name, we can safely say that the ninth WEF will be devoted to prospects. There will be a lot of communication, the guests will have good opportunities to share their experiences and lay the foundation for new long-term relationships.
The business block of the forum is divided into seven thematic blocks: "New forms of international cooperation", "Technologies of independence", "Financial value system", "Russia Far East", "People, Education and patriotism", "Transport and Logistics: new routes" and "Master plans: from architecture to economics". In addition, business dialogues are taking place, during which Russian entrepreneurs discuss topical issues with colleagues from China, India and ASEAN countries.
The plenary session with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin attracts special attention of the guests. He also plans a number of international negotiations with representatives of partner countries. Deputy Chairman of the People's Republic of China Han Zheng and Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Alexander Vulin and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Vladivostok especially for meetings with the Russian leader.
The guests were pleased with the large cultural program. In "Arab Village" set up in the open air, those who wished could get acquainted with the oriental traditions, originality and hospitality of the Arabian Peninsula.
Representatives of Russia and Vietnam held a joint conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Within the framework of the BRICS Creative Innovation Forum, a discussion was held on the digitalization of languages, creative industries and the development of the game industry in the Far East.
A separate program of the forum is devoted to sports topics. The hosts and guests of the WEF took part in the International Sail Parade of the WEF, an international chess tournament with the participation of star chess players such as the current champion of Russia Vladislav Artemyev and two-time world blitz champion Valentina Gunina. More than thirty grandmasters from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China and the UAE played in the WEF Cup. The chess players played out a prize fund of three million rubles.
The Forum has once again shown the world community Russia's focus on creating a just multipolar world where every participant has the right to a full-fledged voice.
