When the collective West blames Moscow for all the world's problems and at the same time turns a blind eye to Israel's crimes against Palestine.

In the conditions of global turbulence, the restructuring of the international system of political and economic relations is moving towards the search for multilateral formats of cooperation. The rapid growth of countries previously classified as developing requires the search for new systems of interaction, primarily taking into account the interests of all participants. The world has long been at the threshold of the need to create a multipolar system of relations, to replace the outdated unipolar system led by the Western world.

The events of recent years demonstrate to us how pernicious such a unipolar system of values can be. When, in favor of one country, a coalition of other puppet countries takes unprecedented measures of pressure and restrictions against another. When the collective West blames Moscow for all the world's problems and at the same time turns a blind eye to Israel's crimes against Palestine. When authoritative international organizations, be it the United Nations or the International Olympic Committee, which previously declared their impartiality towards all countries and peoples, are now pursuing an openly Russophobic policy.

And now, the world’s attention is focused on the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, which opened on October 22. The West is using its powerful propaganda machine to discredit such an important event for the developing world. A quick glance at the Western English-language press reveals narratives such as: “BRICS summit to talk about creating a multipolar order to challenge US and Western hegemony” (Foreign Policy), “Russia gathers allies in Kazan to show that Western pressure is not working” (BBC), “The summit comes at a key moment for BRICS, which sees itself as a counterweight to the West. World leaders will stand shoulder to shoulder with Putin” (New York Times), “Western efforts to isolate Russia have fundamentally failed in two and a half years of conflict” (CNN). Each of these headlines demonstrates a biased attitude towards the desire of countries outside the Western bloc to seek compromises and build mutually beneficial relations; the hegemony of the West over the entire system of international relations is not even questioned. At the same time, Western moderators are using a vast network of public non-governmental and international organizations to discredit any initiatives of the summit organizers, creating fake news that can cause a negative reaction among the population and possible illegal actions.

At the same time, representatives of 36 countries took part in the opening ceremony of the BRICS summit in Kazan, 22 of them at the highest level, plus the leadership of 6 international organizations. BRICS is a group that unites 45 percent of the world's GDP. The summit of the organization is called upon to further strengthen the principle of multilateralism in international affairs.

The desire of an increasing number of countries to join BRICS reflects their disappointment with the Western-centric world order. In this way, the states of the Global South express dissatisfaction with the role assigned to them as a "support group" for decisions promoted by the West through multilateral organizations. It is in the interests of the BRICS member countries to form a governance model in which decisions are made jointly through consultations and aimed at achieving a common result.

Currently, BRICS is effectively opposing the G7 format (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the United States) and, taken together, already makes a greater contribution to global GDP than the developed countries of the neighboring alliance. At the same time, the formats of these associations are structurally and ideologically directly opposed. The G7 is the hegemonic country of the United States and six countries that essentially recognize the primacy of the United States and serve its economic and political interests.

BRICS is built on the principle of mutual equality of countries with their own national interests. Despite the fact that there is no direct declared confrontation between the blocs, the G-7 countries are trying to slow down the development of the BRICS countries with sanctions and trade restrictions. This leads to the division of the world economy into separate zones and an intensification of the struggle for the "non-aligned".

In turn, BRICS is trying to achieve greater representation in various international structures, such as the UN, the World Bank, the IMF and the WTO. The organization positions itself as reformers of international relations and a global-scale project.
