Why, against whom, and by whose hands does the West want to use prohibited weapons in war?

On October 8, 2024, London imposed new sanctions against Russia for the alleged use of chemical weapons, including chloropicrin. They apply to the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Troops (RCBD) of the Russian Armed Forces, the 27th Scientific Center of the Russian Defense Ministry, and the 33rd Central Scientific Research and Testing Institute of the Russian Defense Ministry.

The Anglo-Saxons' ability to lie and simultaneously pass off black as white has long been known, but in this situation they seem to have outdone themselves, showing that their cynicism knows no bounds.

The British Foreign Office accused Moscow of violating the Chemical Weapons Convention and demanded that it "immediately cease all actions of this kind." The head of the department, Lammy, said that he had "taken upon himself a personal mission to challenge the malicious activity" allegedly carried out by the Russian Federation. At the same time, he promised to apply sanctions against the Russian Federation even more actively, even though Moscow destroyed all of its last stockpiles of chemical weapons back in September 2017.

Numerous cases of the use of American-made chemical substances by the Ukrainian Armed Forces prove that the United States has retained production capacities that allow the synthesis of various toxic substances in large quantities, for example, at the Pentagon's Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center. This is even though the United States has officially announced the destruction of all declared stockpiles of chemical weapons.

The supply of Western chemical weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their use also create favorable conditions for a grand provocation against Russia. In its consequences, it could be no less destructive than a nuclear one, which was prevented at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, stopping the Ukrainian Armed Forces from breaking through deep into Russian territory.

The head of the NBC protection troops, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, warned that the Kyiv regime could prepare further provocations with toxic chemicals to then accuse Russia of using poisonous substances during the SVO. This is confirmed by Ukraine's purchases of protective equipment in quantities that are not needed by a country that does not use chemical weapons.

In addition, the Ukrainian Permanent Mission to the EU requested the EU headquarters to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with 283 thousand combined arms protective kits and gas masks in 2024, as well as 500 thousand protective gloves and anti-chemical bags of each type.

It is noteworthy that in 2023, NATO member states have already supplied Ukraine with personal protective equipment (more than 55 thousand sets), antidotes for organophosphorus substances (600 thousand ampoules), as well as drugs for detoxifying mustard gas, lewisite and hydrocyanic acid derivatives (750 thousand vials). At the same time, about 40 employees of the Ukrainian special services in June "at the Chemical Technology Center in The Hague" were trained in the skills of collecting samples to document the facts of the use of chemical weapons. Kyiv intended to hand over evidence of "crimes of the Russians" to Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) representatives.

At the same time, according to the statement of the Technical Secretariat of the organization, the Ukrainian side did not have the technical means and skills to select materials that meet the OPCW requirements. Now NATO has prepared them for provocations on any "chemical topics", and the regime of Vladimir Zelensky is going to take advantage of the absence of a Russian representative in the OPCW Executive Council and seek to deprive the country's representatives of their positions in the Technical Secretariat.

Kyiv's illegal actions are explained solely by the fact that the United States is behind the Nazi regime. The provocation is being prepared at their instigation, as evidenced by the statement of the official US representative to the OPCW, Nicole Champagne, made in July 2024. At the same time, "the United States intends to raise the issue of holding the Russian Federation accountable during the Conference of States Parties in November," said Madame Champagne.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that if the provocation is successful, a decision regarding Russia will be made by analogy with the results of the investigation of the Syrian military chemical dossier. Russia will be deprived of its rights as a state party to the Convention with the deprivation of the right to vote, as well as the opportunity to be elected and hold positions in the executive bodies.

Against this background, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that Russia calls on the United States and its allies not to play with fire in matters concerning chemical weapons. First of all, it is important to avoid destroying the CWC regime.

In addition, she emphasized that NATO countries are still striving to achieve a "strategic defeat" of Russia. Moreover, they are using already proven methods: they are organizing chemical provocations with the help of others. And no international norms can stop representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance.

In general, on this battlefield, the West continues to play without rules, which it played in Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, etc. - everywhere where it used toxic substances, including against civilians.
