Sibgatullah Ahmadi, a spokesman for the FNSA, told the Sangar website that on the night of May 11, an unequal 8-hour clash took place in the Sari Darai Kishanabad district of the Banu district, as a result of which two prominent commanders of the anti-Taliban resistance, Asadullah Andarabi, and Sher Mohammad Andarabi, were killed.
“These two commanders fought in a fierce and unequal battle, under siege and face to face with more than 400 Taliban Red Brigade fighters, and were killed around 2 am along with a group of their fighters,” Sibgatullah Ahmadi said.
According to him, along with the commanders, four more soldiers of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, as well as 17 Taliban were killed. The number of wounded is unknown.
“When soldiers ask commanders to leave the battlefield and take cover in a safe place, they do not agree and order the rest of their soldiers to leave the area. They will break the siege and take the hit so the other soldiers can get away,” said a spokesman for the NRFA.
Meanwhile, according to information received by Sangar from the spot, the Taliban took the bodies of two commanders and their soldiers for public display in the bazaar of the center of neighboring Dehsalah district Baghlan province and did not allow them to be buried (the photo is not published for obvious reasons).
Commander Asadullah, known as Asad Andarabi, was formerly a member of the Afghan Ministry of the Interior and for a time the chief of police in the Banu district. Commander Sher Mohammad, known as Sher Andarabi, was also one of the commanders of the Ministry of Defense during the Republic. During the First Resistance (1996-2001) both fought under its leader Ahmad Shah Massoud.
Over the past three days, the Taliban has sent an additional 10,000 militants to the provinces of Panjshir, Baghlan, and Takhar, the main stronghold of the Second Resistance, to fight the forces of the National Resistance Front led by Ahmad Massoud.
