Iran has been under tough sanctions for more than 40 years, said the Mayor of the Iranian city of Rasht, Rahim Shoghi. Given the attempts of the West to put pressure on Russia, the experience of Tehran may help the Russian Federation, the official noted.

"It's necessary that many forums, like the municipal forum BRICS, be held. So that people can receive useful information, so that both nations learn about each other", said Rahim Shoghi in an interview with RT.

The main task after the 6th BRICS International Municipal Forum, the Mayor of Rasht called the introducing Iranian citizens to Russian culture and traditions.

The forum has also become a platform for building a real business partnership between cities. In an interview for TV BRICS, the Chairman of the Islamic City Council of Tehran, Mehdi Chamran, spoke about the agreement on cooperation between Russia and Iran.

Tehran is trying to achieve the best results in managing the city, so it is very important for the Iranian side to participate in BRICS events, exchange experiences and opinions with allies, and discuss all issues with them, said Deputy Mayor for Planning and Human Resources Majid Bagheri. He also told about the details of the memorandum between the municipalities of Tehran and Moscow.
