Sources in Kandahar report secret intelligence cooperation agreements between the Islamic Republic of Iran's Quds Force and Taliban intelligence.
Kandahar, March 1 - Sangar, Mirwais Shirzai. The Quds Force or the Jerusalem Forces, a special forces military unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is an elite military-political formation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is responsible for carrying out special operations outside the territory of Iran.

A reliable source close to Mullah Haibatullah, the leader of the Taliban, told the Sangar correspondent in Kandahar that the secret agreement between the Taliban leadership and the Quds organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran was signed after several clandestine trips by representatives of both sides to Kandahar and Tehran last month.
“It was signed by Abdulhaq Wasiq, Taliban intelligence chief, with the approval of the "Amirulmuminin" on behalf of the Taliban Emirate and Kazemi Qomi, Special Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Afghanistan. These contacts were provided and maintained through the Quds Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran. Qomi himself is also one of the generals of the Quds Forces”, – said the source.
According to new details that were provided to Sangar from the provisions of this agreement, Iran is obliged to secretly cooperate in supplying, equipping, and training the Taliban special operations forces, both in Afghanistan and in Iran.
The Taliban also have an obligation to cooperate in the implementation of Iran's regional plans, the source said.
“For example, in the rivalry between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Israel, the Taliban will secretly support Iran, and if necessary, their militants and suicide bombers will directly participate in the Islamic Republic’s Quds special operations,” he said.
The source says that al-Qaeda leaders are now in Iran and have played an important role in building trust between the Taliban leadership and the IRGC.
“Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed by American drones in Kabul after returning from Iran. Sayf al-Adl, his successor, is based in Iran and, along with the Quds Force, they have secret offices to fight the global enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda fighters were also seen in the city of Zahedan,” the source said.
A few days ago, the Afghan embassy in Tehran was handed over to the Taliban, which caused discontent among the anti-Taliban forces and supporters of the Islamic Republic in the region, primarily the National Resistance Front led by Ahmad Massoud. Sangar's source says that this action and other points in the agreement, including the prevention of national resistance activities against the Taliban and the cooperation of intelligence agencies, were among the demands of the Taliban.
Exactly three years ago, on February 29, 2020, the Taliban signed an agreement with the United States of America in the city of Doha, Qatar, which, according to some reports, only a small part of it was published in the media, and the rest - the main part of it - remains hidden. Now the group that signed this agreement is called the Mullah Baradar group or the Qatari-pro-American group.
New details of the relationship between Iran and the Taliban and their secret agreement prove that the game in Afghanistan will change completely and become sharper, and Tehran will become the main patron of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.
