A year of Gaza has shown that the current international system is a big lie.

Author: Adham Shargawi, writer (Palestine)

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, for teaching us that the Security Council is a gang, international law is just a text on paper, and the Charter of Human Rights is a joke and a myth.

- A year has passed, thank you Gaza, for making us understand that this world is blind, it turns its all-seeing eye where it wants and closes its eyes to what it wants. The children of Gaza are not like the children of Ukraine, because they, like them, are Romans, and we are Arabs.

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, because it has taught us that the truth has been thrown far away and no one wants to find it. No one will ever come to you and say that you are good, and I will give you everything you want. If you want something, reach out and take it against the world's will.

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, for teaching us that the liberation of Palestine is possible from the sea to the river, and what happened this time was just a little training and experience for what is to come.

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, for teaching us that whoever wants can, and it never depends on the weapon but on will. Who would have thought that besieged Gaza would be able to make weapons, fight with them, and surprise its friends before its enemies?

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, for teaching us the value of blessings, and drinking clean water has become a dream. Getting fresh bread is an achievement. Taking a proper shower is like lying on a beach in the Maldives. A small house becomes more valuable than the world palaces until it falls on the heads of its inhabitants.

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, because you have taught us that the likes of the Companions of the Prophet live and exist among us; The descendants of Khaled bin Walid destroy the enemy ranks with all diligence and seriousness. The descendants of Saad bin Abi Waqqas throw arrows at the enemy with complete accuracy. The descendants of Ikrema still swear allegiance until death. The voice of the descendants of Kakaa in the army touches our hearts, as we heard them say: "In the name of Allah the Victorious!"

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, because you taught us that "Khansaa" is not dead, and tens of thousands of women like Khansaa still live among us and sacrifice their children in the path of Allah, have the hope of reward and the language of their condition says: God's! Take the blood of our children so that You will be happy and content.

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, for teaching us that when children are brought up in difficult circumstances, they grow up before they grow up, and before they become men, they reach the level of men and it is as if they become like the child in the story of Ahdod, whose blood of the believing people makes them feel that they will be burned alive but will not turn away from religion. Blood revives this religion, and tears make it die. So wipe away your tears and teach the young people and the martyrs of tomorrow.

- A year has passed, thank you, Gaza, for teaching us that faith is action and behavior, not lines and pages. We have not seen anyone angry and dissatisfied with an opinion about divine judgment; just as they collect the limbs and organs of their friends and companions and thank their Lord, they wipe away their tears with one hand and continue to collect them with the other. This fills their hearts and faith and replenishes their anger.
