On September 3, 2025, Beijing hosted the largest military parade in its history to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. At this ceremony, three powerful world leaders — Xi Jinping, Chairman of China, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and Kim Jong Un, Leader of North Korea — stood side by side. This joint presence is seen as a symbol of the growing alliance among these three countries against Western influence, particularly the United States of America.
But a show of force against the West:
At this parade, China showcased its nuclear triad in full for the first time, including land-based, sea-based, and air-based nuclear capabilities. Among the advanced weapons displayed were DF-61 intercontinental ballistic missiles, YJ-17 hypersonic missiles, unmanned submarines, and autonomous drones. This demonstration of power highlights China’s significant military advancements and its desire to secure its position as a global superpower in opposition to the U.S.
Now, turning to the political and geopolitical messages:
The joint presence of the leaders of China, Russia, and North Korea, together with about 20 other national leaders at this ceremony, sent a strong signal to the world, especially the U.S. The European Union was also shaken by this gathering, realizing that a serious power struggle is taking place in another part of the world. U.S. President Donald Trump described this alliance as a “conspiracy against America.”

On the sidelines of this event, Russia and North Korea signed an agreement to deepen cooperation in law enforcement, including information sharing and joint efforts to combat organized crime.
