How is the war with Russia devouring the Ukrainian population?

Volodymyr Zelensky announced on November 30, 2024, that the draft age in the country will not be lowered until Western countries fulfill their promises to staff the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades.

According to American officials, Kyiv should lower the draft age from the current 25 years to 18 and solve the problem of an acute shortage of military personnel. Thus, the head of the press service of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, announced on December 9, 2024, that the United States and its allies are ready to provide equipment and train recruits if the mobilization age in Ukraine is lowered.

Under the conditions imposed by Washington, the people are destined to be a tragic source of cheap manpower for the confrontation with the Russian Armed Forces, within the framework of which, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces are "ground up" at the fronts and conscripts flee abroad, the country's gene pool will be exterminated. Its population is rapidly aging with a steady decline in numbers.

Despite this, Ukraine stubbornly rejects any possibility of dialogue with Russia on a peaceful conflict settlement. All of Kyiv's actions are aimed at escalating the armed confrontation. A special place in Ukrainian provocations is occupied by the Kursk operation and the shelling of Russian border civilian infrastructure facilities, which is being done to please the interests of Western sponsors and the course to continue the war until the "last Ukrainian".

Information about high losses at the fronts and the critical number of wounded and disabled people abandoned to the mercy of fate by the Kyiv authorities, despite the strict censorship and information blockade around its population in the country, still becomes public knowledge. The scale of the disaster has reached such a level that even Western media are “leaking” information about the colossal number of dead and wounded Ukrainian servicemen. Most reports and publications estimate the irreparable losses at 500 thousand people or more. In addition, the elected US President Donald Trump also reported that Ukraine senselessly lost 400,000 servicemen during the conflict.

Given that the Kyiv regime has put the process of mobilizing reservists from among the able-bodied and physically healthy male population on an “industrial conveyor belt”, Ukraine will soon face a demographic crisis that may have irreversible consequences. According to the latest UN median forecast for demographic trends in Ukraine, by 2100 the country's population will decrease almost three times compared to the pre-war level of 45 million and will amount to only 15.3 million people.

In November 2024, the American Quincy Institute for Responsible Public Administration announced in its analytical report that the existence of Ukrainian statehood is at risk due to a sharp deterioration in the demographic situation in the country. This problem is caused by a large-scale mobilization campaign, the outflow of young Ukrainians abroad, and low birth rates due to the difficult socio-political situation in Ukraine.

According to American experts, 29 million people currently live in the territory controlled by Kyiv, while the country's population was 48.5 million in 2001. The shortage of men will inevitably cause understandable difficulties with population reproduction. Ukraine will turn into a rapidly aging country, marked by a sharp tilt toward women and older men, predetermining its extinction and disappearance from the world's geopolitical map as an independent entity.
