Makhdum Alim was released when a $250 million British aid package for Abdul Rashid Dostum became known.

Author: Farid Ahmad, editor-in-chief of the Sangar website

How do these two cases relate to each other? Do they want to send Makhdum Alim to fight against Dostum, or do they send Dostum to fight against Makhdum Alim? Where and for what project will the $250 million be spent? What does the arrest of Hashem Rais, one of Dostum's key men, by Iranian intelligence have to do with all this?

The news about $250 million was published by The Independent, a British newspaper that quotes Anthony Kordzman, a well-known American pundit, but we couldn't find it on the paper's site.

10 April Sir Adam McClure Thomson, former British diplomat, director of the European Leadership Network, a London-based pan-European think tank, and former British Permanent Representative to NATO (2014-2016), quotes on his personal blog Dr. Julian Lewis, chairman of the British Parliament’s Security and Intelligence Committee of the British Parliament, who announced "British government’s strategic decision to support Uzbeks in Afghanistan".

“British government believes that different ethnic groups should participate in the government in Afghanistan for a healthy political power exchange”, said Dr. Lewis. “For example, the Uzbeks in northern Afghanistan, led by General Dostum, are one of the original and historical ethnic groups in Afghanistan, and thus recognizing their legitimate share in any Afghan government is a must. That is why the British Parliament has instructed MI6 (British Secret Intelligence Service, SIS/Military Intelligence - Sangar) to assist Uzbeks in northern Afghanistan on the agenda under UN Security Council Resolution 1453 (adopted in 2002 for the former IRA - Sangar).”

Adam Thomson (in the photo) again quotes Julian Lewis that an agreement was reached on March 3 this year at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey, and $250 million is being presented to the Afghan National Movement led by “General Dostum” by the British government through MI6 and under the control of the UN.

“General Dostum is one of the most influential military and political figures in Afghanistan and an Uzbek, who can help form an inclusive government in Afghanistan with the presence of Uzbeks and other ethnic groups and prevent the Taliban from seeking total control over the country,” said Julian Lewis.

Other details are given by Anthony Cardzman in an interview with The Independent.

“British intelligence officials and Dostum have met several times over the past six months to agree on the details of cooperation,” he said. "As a result, the fall of the Taliban government is unlikely, but the British expect in this way to influence the Taliban and change their course somewhat."

The UK is the architect of the Taliban. This was officially acknowledged by Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, their main supporter. Now the Taliban have closed in on Russia and China, and their "architect" has decided to punish them. But why did the British choose the Uzbeks, and not the Tajiks, who bear the brunt of the resistance to the Taliban?

Because the Tajiks are Iranian-speaking and culturally related to the Iranians and have had more strategic ties with Russia over the past 40 years, they have never been and never will be considered a partner of Britain and its other product, the US. One can cite the words of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, who said that if it were not for Great Britain, the language of communication in the region would be Persian.

Now that the position of the Pashtuns and Tajiks is known, the Hazaras, who have a "strategic connection" on a religious basis with Iran, can not be partners, are left the fourth ethnic of Afghanistan - the Uzbeks, led by Marshal Dostum, who is supported by Turkey, a country friendly to Britain. One day history itself will be amazed that this time Britain has thought about the rights of those against whom for two hundred years it has itself directed the Pashtun governments.

A failed coup by Dostum-Alim

Makhdum Alim, known as the "Executioner of the North", was released three days after the news of the $250 million was published. It immediately occurs to the reader that the Taliban sent him to confront Dostum. A sign of this confrontation is the killing of the commander of the special guard Marshal Dostum - Gul Hassan (in the foto from the right), who was killed near his house in Samangan. This murder took place one day after the release of Makhdumi Alim.

Mullah Makhdum Mohammad Alim Rabbani, or Makhdum Alim, one of the powerful Uzbek Taliban commanders in northern Afghanistan, was arrested in January and released three months later. He is one of the most brutal Taliban commanders, who, according to some commanders of the group, was known for his atrocities, killings, cruelty, and harsh punishments of people in the north.

The Taliban cited kidnappings and violations of the law as the reason for his arrest, and their political opponents - his ethnicity, race, language, and origin. Meanwhile, a factor no one mentioned was his relationship with Marshal Dostum. The author of the memo, who provided the information to Sangar, said he had heard about it from several people close to Marshal Dostum and the Taliban leadership. According to him, if the Taliban did not stop Makhdum Alim, he planned to free three northern provinces from the Taliban, including Faryab, Jowzjan, and Saripul, and transfer them to political opponents of the Taliban in a coup.

Finally, none of the versions can be considered wrong. But what is close to reality and corresponds to the theme is the latest version. What is the reason for the release of Makhdumi Alim and who is behind it?

ISIS project

News of a $250 million British project in northern Afghanistan is credible. Some experts believe that in the not too distant future, an ISIS project will start in the north, and Makhdoom Alim was released with the cooperation of British intelligence (MI6) + Pakistan (ISI) + Haqqani + Dostum from prison to manage the war in the north and promote this project.

Sangar previously reported, citing Taliban sources, that Makhdum Alim was initially arrested for creating ISIS and fomenting discord between ISIS and the Taliban in the north, with financial and intelligence support from the Karzai-Ghani's governments and the United States.

Sources now say that the release plan was given to MI6 by Marshal Dostum (during one of his secret meetings) where he requested to release Alim. The Haqqani network, which has close ties to the ISI, forced the Taliban leadership to release Makhdum Alim.

"Amir al-mu'minin" - Mullah Haybatullah Akhundzade did not give consent to his release. According to reliable information received by Sangar from its sources, the Taliban kept Makhdum Alim (in the foto) not in prison, but in the hotel of the Taliban Security Department in Kabul. Last month, a delegation of 40 Faryab Uzbek elders went to Kandahar to address "amir al-mu'minin" at the request of Mulla Nur Agha, Makhdum Alim's brother-in-law, who in his absence commanded about 2,000 of his troops.

The narrator of this story, who was in this group, told Sangar that they went to Mulla Khaibatulla in a caravan of about 10 tanks, armored vehicles, and expensive gifts, and he and his retinue greeted them very warmly.

“We saw "amir al-mu'minin",” he said. - He is alive. They lie that he is dead. We were his guests for several days. He said that Makhdum Alim will be judged according to Sharia law, if his guilt is proven, then he will be punished, if not, then those who arrested him will be punished. But in the meantime, two people from the prosecutor's office came to him and said that the crime of Makhdum Alim was 100 percent proven and that he could not be released at all.”

However, contrary to the decision of the “amir al-muminin”, with whose authority no one even has the right to doubt, Makhdum Alim was released. This means that there is a larger and more serious thing. According to experts, we are talking about British-Pakistani mediation and the launch of another project, which cannot be anything other than the creation of ISIS. The commanders who can cooperate with them are people like Makhdum Alam and Marshal Dostum, who can lead the extremists into Central Asia; Those who have always been the concern of the countries of the region,  Russia and China.

People involved in the events, including the Taliban, believe that the reason for the arrest of Hashem Rais (in the photo from the left), one of the key men of Marshal Dostum, by Iranian intelligence also lies in this. He was arrested on March 19 this year after three days of arrival from Turkey. It was said that his mission was to send fighters of the Dostum National Movement to fight in Ukraine, but according to the audio recording, which is at the disposal of Sangar, Marshal tells an Iranian official that all this is not true and that Rais is not involved in these issues. Sources say that the arrest was related to the same $250 million and the ISIS project.

"Our hands are tied"

Almost a week later, no voice was heard from the “Marshal of Afghanistan”. This news did not blow up the media of Afghanistan and the region, but it is possible that it made the special services of the neighboring countries think. The author of these lines was interested that one of Marshal Dostum's people said that this issue ($250 million) is not clear and official yet, it's not something we can confirm.

“But there is no doubt that the secret services are trying to ensure the interests of their countries,” he said. Russia and China support the Taliban, an ignorant and anti-civilization group that will become a problem for them tomorrow. They accredited Taliban diplomats. Uzbekistan, which has a large terrorist group in Afghanistan, makes economic deals with the Taliban but does not give even a bullet to its opponents. Neighbors don't support us. If they help Marshal Dostum, in 15 days the situation in the north will change completely. Our hands are tied and the British are taking advantage of this opportunity.”

So, Britain sends Dostum against the Taliban and the Taliban sends Makhdum Alim against Dostum. Nor does it seem illogical to suggest that these two intelligence soldiers were involved in the creation of ISIS since the plan to involve Russia on the southern borders of its sphere of influence is always on the table of its rivals.

From almost any foreshortening, if we look at these events, we see only a plan to keep the war in Afghanistan going, something that the UK and other powers can do very well. Dostum and Uzbeks don't have that much power to challenge the Taliban, and they can't change all calculations and end the war.

Only Tajiks can change the calculations. If the Hazaras and Uzbeks join them, the Taliban will be completely expelled from Afghanistan. This is not in the interests of Britain.

But what I can’t imagine is how Marshal Dostum, the one who, in the memories of the Taliban, carved the tragedy of Dashti Layli with blood and is their sworn enemy, enters into such a dangerous adventure that it will end not only not in his favor, but also his country?

Afghanistan is a country of conspiracies. Anything can happen in it.
