The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRFA) announced the death of 4 of its members, including the commander, as well as the killing and wounding of 45 Taliban fighters in Badakhshan.
Kunduz, August 19 - Sangar, Jamshid Badakhshi. In two districts of this province over the past 12 days, there have been clashes between the forces of the Resistance Front and the Taliban.
According to information provided by the press service of the Sangaru National Resistance Front, 12 days ago, the Taliban launched massive and brutal attacks on the positions of the National Resistance Front forces in the Shuhada district and part of Sheva in the Arganjkhah region.
“In these battles, 18 Taliban were killed and 27 wounded by the forces of the Resistance Front. Also, 4 Taliban military vehicles were destroyed,” the source said.
According to the source, in these battles, soldiers of the Kunduz Army Corps, commanded by Mawlawi Amanuddin Badakhshi, the Badri special forces, and the border forces of the Taliban were involved in these battles to induce terror and fear among the population.
“According to intelligence sources of the National Resistance Front, the number of enemy losses in these battles far exceeds the statistics, but due to the unfavorable geography of the war and the enemy’s attempts to hide losses, only the above-mentioned statistics were confirmed,” the source added.
The press service of the Resistance Front confirmed the death of 4 fighters of the National Resistance Front, including commander Taher, and the injury of 2 more people.
According to information received by Sangar from local sources, Commander Tahir and another person named Mosadeq were residents of the village of Busht in the Shuhada district, while the other two people, Shukrulla and Naim, were residents of the village of Malangab of the Baharak district.
Among the Taliban killed was a commander named Fattah Yaftali, a resident of the Yaftal region. There are reports of the killing of several fighters of the Kunduz Army Corps and the Badri detachment, whose identity has not been established.
Meanwhile, from Badakhshan, including from the districts of Duzhrm, Arganjkhakh, Baharak, Darvaz, and Ragistan, there are other reports of partisan operations by the National Resistance Front, but their details are not reported.
Due to the fact that Badakhshan is bordered by four countries - Tajikistan, China, and Pakistan, it is considered an important geography in terms of strategy. The Sheva region is a special large geographical area of this province, including parts of 7 districts - Darvaz, Ragh, Ishkashim, Shugnan, Shuhada, Arganjkhah, Baharak, and Yaftal. It seems that both the National Resistance Front and the Taliban are trying to control the region in order to ensure their dominance in Badakhshan.
