I have no interest in writing gossip about failure because it's our homeland and one day we will liberate it from this proxy group, an oppressor alien to our culture and history.
Author: Amrullah Saleh,
Acting President of the Republic of Afghanistan
On Saturday, August 14, 2021, Mr. Hamdollah Moheb and Dr. Fazli came to see me at the Presidential Palace at 10:00 PM. This was the time when I was angry and dissatisfied with the non-announcement of the national resistance because it was scheduled to be announced on Thursday.
They had their reasons. I was asked about my plans. Their advice was to think calmly and from a long perspective. Something must be done to deprive the Taliban of their legitimacy because there is no such thing as a peace process. It is a fact that the peace process has collapsed. At this point, I agreed with them.
I wanted a little detail. I understand from the conversation that they wanted the president to leave abroad. I said that I will not leave my country in any way. I resist as much as I can. If I can not do anything anywhere, I will build a barricade on the roof of my house in Taimani.
Mr. Fazli called someone on the phone and came out of my office, and a few minutes later he came and said, "Very well, then we will be in touch and consult."
Mr. Moheb said that the Pakistanis decided to kill several people in the most heinous way and even drag them through the city before killing them, and one of them is you.
I said that I can imagine, and maybe they have the right to do so. What else should be expected from the enemy?
From Saturday night until Sunday morning, August 15, 2021, I was awake to be aware of the situation and we were able to prevent the uprising of Taliban prisoners in Pule Charkhi.
That night, the only person who answered my calls to the end was Kabul Police Chief General Tutakhel. I could not find any other security and defense officials.
My last message to Mr. Moheb was at two o'clock in the morning. I wrote that Sorobi is under pressure and we must act urgently. He did not answer.
On Sunday, August 15, at 9:15 a.m., I left my house in Taimani for Panjshir province, where I participated in the formation of the resistance, and we did not allow the stain of surrender and supplication to be engraved on the forehead of the resistance and our nation.
The legend of the resistance and its soldiers began with the shed blood of a number of them and continues. I was shocked to see photos of two Taliban Ranger vehicles blown up by resistance soldiers in the village of Roha.
What a proud nation! I bow at your feet.
I have no interest in writing gossip about failure because it's our homeland and one day we will liberate it from this proxy group, an oppressor alien to our culture and history. For me, the narrative of resistance - weakening and defeating of the Taliban is more important than writing nostalgia.
