The one accused of killing Ustad Rabbani did not even know that there was an explosive in his turban.

Author: Habibullah Hisam Mohajer, former head of the Ulema Council of Afghanistan (Iran), especially for “Sangar”

The late Ustad (teacher, master) once said: “On a trip that we made from the south to the southwest, from the north to the northeast of the country and reached the province of Ghor, the patience of the Americans ran out and they ordered Karzai to stop my tour of the provinces. I was in Gora when Karzai called me and said: “Mr. Ustad, the Americans are very angry, they called me and asked me to call you. Please accept my request and come back! They are very sensitive!” We ended up returning to Kabul without completing the trip!

First story:

Four days before Ustad’s martyrdom, we were allocated rooms at the Istiqlal Hotel (Tehran). Before I entered my room, one of our authoritative companions said: “Mawlana, come to me, relax a little, then you will go to your room.”

I went to his room out of respect for his age and the fact that he was one of the great Mujahideen. We talked about the struggle, starting with jihad and the Islamic Revolution of Iran, and then discussed complaints about the mistakes of the Mujahideen. He said about the events after the victory of the 8th Savr (April 28, 1992, when the Mujahideen took power in Kabul): “Hizbi Islami (Hekmatyar) showed impatience, and Jamiati Islami (Rabbani-Masud) monopolized power, and the ground for the destruction of the country and jihad achievements became favorable.”

Under these wise and painful words, he said a shocking thing: “They will kill Ustad!” I asked: “Who will kill?” He replied: “Americans.” I asked, “Why?” He said: “Americans say we have never seen such a hypocrite as Ustad Rabbani, who has a calm appearance but in his heart carries a thousand plans for our (America’s) destruction. he is dangerous and will destroy us!" I asked: “Sir... who told you this?” He said: “One of the high-ranking American generals!”

I didn't know what the purpose of Mr.... was for telling me such a thing and trusting me. There may be several sides to this issue. He must have wanted to inform Ustad about this through me. Or maybe he wanted to report a tragic incident that the Americans would commit and reflect their bad intentions. Or, I don’t know, maybe he wanted to say that Ustad’s mission in politics and leadership will end soon, and we should pay attention to what to do in his absence.

On the fourth day, when we were returning to Afghanistan, I told Ustad: “God willing, we will fly together.” He said: “Well, you can go, I have an appointment with a doctor in Dubai. For heart treatment, I’m going to the Emirates, and from there, I’ll return as soon as possible.”

The next day I was driving towards Parwan province when Haji Akbar Turajonzadeh called from Tajikistan and said: “Has Ustad been martyred?” I said: “He went to the Emirates, and I returned to Kabul.” He said: “The media from Kabul announced. I urgently called Dr. Gulistan, the head of Kabul, and he said that he is in Ustad’s house, he was martyred.”

Ustad's martyrdom was widely reported in the world media, with eminent scholars of the Islamic Ummah, the World Union of Islamic Scholars, think tanks, political and international organizations, as well as Muslim countries and Islamic governments deploring Ustad's martyrdom. This unique coverage of the news of Ustad's murder expresses in its own way his greatness and high status at the global and international level.

Second story:

Martyr Engineer Aminullah Amin, known as Engineer Amin, a senior member of Afghanistan's National Security Directorate, was martyred in an attack on Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president, on the first day of the presidential elections. About a month before Ustad’s martyrdom, the late engineer called, came to the madrassa and told me: “Inform Ustad that a plan has been developed to kill him.” I said: “How? What's the plan? He said: “There is no need to go into any more detail. Several provincial national security chiefs have been summoned to Kabul and are working on a plan to kill Ustad. Inform him immediately."

I tried to see the late Ustad at his house in Wazir Akbar Khan. The meeting was organized by Haji Nazir. In a telephone conversation, he said: “Dear Mawlana, Ustad said that he will be waiting for you at 4 o’clock,” and I met him there and informed him about the assassination plan.

He lowered his head for a few moments and fell silent. And then he raised his head and said: “There is no choice, what fate has prepared will happen. Everything is in God’s hands.”

Third story:

Once I was returning to Afghanistan after participating in one of the international conferences that took place in Tehran, through the Mashhad airport. There I met Mr. Hamid Karzai, the previous president. We had to wait for the flight with him. Mr. Karzai was accompanied by Mr. Karim Khorram, Mr. Taqwai, and several aides.

We spoke with Karzai about the important problems of the country. He told me: “You talk about me too much behind my back.” I said: "Yes!" He asked: “Why?” I said, “You were very dependent on America.” He said: “Without a doubt, without a doubt, I didn’t recognize America then, then when I did, 5 years passed and I no longer listened to America.”

In one part of the conversation, I asked, “How did they kill Ustad Rabbani?” He said: “Three events I suffered very hard during my government: first, the plan to kill my brother, second, the message from Sultanzai’s wife that Mullah Omar is in Ghazni and is ready for peace, and the third is the program of the message of peace, in which dear Ustad accepted martyrdom.

A few days before my brother was killed, an American general came and said: “Announce, we want peace, the Taliban are ready.” I said: okay, I will consult with Ustad, he is the head of the Peace Council. He said: “It will be late. Ustad is on a trip to Turkey or somewhere else. You will announce,” but I didn’t announce. My brother was killed for this! If I had made a statement, my brother would still have been killed the next day, and I would have been very disgraced in front of the people.

In the second case, Sultanzuy’s wife said: “I have brought a message from Mullah Omar, you should greet him.” I said, "I don't believe it." She insisted and said in a threatening tone: “We will speak in the press, we will ruin your reputation,” and I told her, I don’t accept this, go and do what you want and can.

If I had agreed, within a few days the death of Mullah Omar would have been announced. It would be a great shame. And it’s good that I didn’t make such a mistake.

In the third case, I received a message of peace, listened to it, and was very happy. I called respected Ustad (in Tehran) and said: “Please come quickly, this is very necessary because the ambassador of peace (from the Taliban) has arrived.” And then how Ustad was killed, I still can’t understand...

According to security and professional information, on the same day that Ustad was martyred, signs of a crime were discovered that explosives were packed in a turban in the government guest house, and before meeting Ustad, it was placed on the representative and peace envoy as a sign of respect, and the remote control was in the hands of another. During the meet and greet, the button was pressed, the explosives went off, and Ustad was killed.

Our Ustad Martyr lived with dignity as a teacher, Ustad, Mujahid, immigrant, leader, head of the Islamic State, and head of the High Peace Council. May Almighty God place him among the martyrs, righteous men, and mujahideen on the Last Day and grant His endless mercy and forgiveness to all the martyrs and mujahideen.
